Aspen Snowmass hosted the latest World Cup men’s races from March 1-3. The event included two GS races and one slalom. The U16 alpine team attended the GS race on March 2 and volunteered their time to help with the slip and course crew.
After more than a week of epic snowfall, postponements, and cancellations, the U18 National Championships operations crew in Jackson, Wyoming, pulled off six of the ten races planned for the week. SSWSC athletes took home medals in every discipline. Noelle Roth took home the U18 National Championship slalom title and Katharina Cosby was 2nd overall on the series for the women, and Adrian Beauregard was 3rd overall for the men.
Nine SSWSC athletes, McKenzie Maines, Piper Mouttet, Austin Johnson, Ethan Maines, Fritz Gamber, Nico Bowdre, Kaden Graham, Everett Baldwin, and Miles Warnke, and two coaches, Garrett Fisk and Todd Wilson, traveled to Anchorage, Alaska February 23 - March 3 for the 2024 Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined Junior Championships.
The 2024 Freestyle Moguls NorAm Cup came to a close this March 9-10, with the final event held at Stratton, VT. The rain poured, the winds howled, the temperatures plummeted, the course turned to ice, and the pick axes were in full swing to prepare the landings, but the show went on!
Freeskiers traveled to Crested Butte during Blues Break, February 22-25 to compete in the IFSA 3 event. The event hosted freeskiers and snowboarders from around North America, throwing down on classic extreme terrain.
