The U.S. Cross Country Junior Nationals took place last week, March 11-16, in Lake Placid, NY., the 1980 Winter Olympic Games site. Fifteen Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club athletes qualified for the Junior Nationals, and 13 attended the event along with three SSWSC coaches to represent the Rocky Mountain region in the races. Cross Country Athlete Tristan Thrasher brings home bronze in freestyle skate race and SSWSC athletes bring home multiple top-10 results.
Virginia Boyd and Kendall Harrington placed second and third in the Holeshot Cross Tour race on March 16, and Virginia Boyd won the FIS race on March 19. Both women qualify for Junior Worlds in April.

Logan Grosdidier emerged as a force to be reckoned with, clinching victory in all four events, super g, giant slalom, slalom, and alpine combined, a commendable second-place finish in the downhill and secured the women's overall win. Three SSWSC athletes, Logan Grosdidier, Caley Goforth, and Bella Fisher, were selected to compete at the U16 Alpine National Championships in Vail on March 31-April 4, 2024.
The U13/U15 Moguls Team competed in the Rocky Mountain Qualifier Series Finals March 15 and 17, ending the 2023-2024 winter season on a high note. They proved they had the stuff and realized a season of hard work and dedication pays off.
