WINTER START RECAP: Jason Colby Ties HS100 Record and Five Athletes Qualify for Youth Olympic Games

SSWSC hosted the Winter Start ski jumping and nordic combined competition on December 9-10, 2023, at Howelsen Hill. The competition was a huge success, and SSWSC athletes had multiple podium finishes. Jason Cobly tied the HS100 hill record with a jump of 105.5 meters (tied with Casey Larson), and Estella Hassrick beat her own HS100 record with a jump of 98.5 meters. The event was a U.S Cup, World Juniors Qualifier, and Youth Olympic Games Qualifier. After the final Youth Olympic Qualifier on Sunday, five SSWSC athletes earned the privilege of representing Team USA at the 2024 Youth Olympic Games in Pyeongchang - Ella Wilson, Estella Hassrick, Jason Colby, Arthur Tirone, and Sawyer Graves.
