U17 Moguls Team Stomps Southwest Freestyle Classic
Six athletes from the U17 Team Steam headed to Telluride over the weekend to take on the Southwest Classic. Beautiful, jagged peaks and blue skies met the athletes as they bumped down Hermit, pushing their speed and jumps. With two singles competitions and one duals competition on the line, there was much opportunity for securing hardware. The athletes all had their highest finishes to date.
Liam Siefken was the champ in one singles and the duals event and placed 7th in the second singles. Shane Mariano placed 2nd in one singles event and earned 6th in the second event. Scotty Kane put down strong singles runs, ending in 13th and 14th place. Claire Boyle finished 2nd in both singles events and 7th in duals. Reise Wilson earned 3rd in singles and 4th in duals. Anouk Bradley was 9th and 11th in singles.
Coach Ann was proud of all the athletes as the top to bottom runs kept on coming. Good work, Team! The U17 athletes are looking forward to a week-end off before they head back to Telluride for Divisional Championships.
