Cross Country Ski Athlete Henry Magill Places 5th in International Race in Falun, Sweden
Cross country ski athlete Henry Magill placed 5th U18, just 6 seconds off the podium, at the Bauhaus Cup interval start classic ski race in Falun, Sweden, on January 21, 2024. He is traveling with an elite group of U18 U.S. skiers for the U18 Scandinavian Trip, providing international race experience to the best cross country skiers in the U.S. under the age of 18. Magill had the top U.S. male result in the race. The Bauhaus Cup is the highest level of junior racing in Sweden. Magill qualified for the U18 Scandinavian Trip during the U.S. Cross Country Nationals at the Soldier Hollow Nordic Center in Utah earlier in January. Magill also raced in the freestyle/skate sprint race on Friday, January 19, and was 15th U18. He will be back at the end of the week to compete in the CU Invitational Spencer James Memorial Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association cross country ski races in Steamboat February 2-3, 2024. His teammate Grey Barbier is at the Winter Youth Olympic Games Gangwon 2024, where he will compete in a series of races representing the United States.
