Enduro Cycling Competition Season Begins

The Enduro Cycling Team raced in Purgatory last Sunday, June 23 at the Revolution Enduro, their first enduro race of the season. This race was very difficult with a World Cup DH track on the course.  Coach Grant Young provided a recap, “Sunday’s race at Purgatory went great! Conditions were tough. After two inches of rain in the last 48 hours, all the trails became quite greasy. The team toughed it out and came through with an awesome race. All the stages worked well, but stage 3 was a class of its own. The local guys in our team’s age group were quite fast. Quinn Dressen finished 7th out of 24 riders—18:03.5 minutes of racing time. Robbie Wodnick finished 10th, total time of 18:46.55. Reid Graham finished 15th, 19:42.8. Miles finished 22nd, total time of 25:08.21. Vander Zuck chose not to race stage 3, a very mature decision, factoring in times he would have been close to Miles Chase’s time. Ryan Montgomery in the 16-18-year-old category, finished 10th with a time of 16:52.65 out of a field of 37.

The team departed Friday for their first Big Mountain Enduro in Angle Fire, New Mexico, and will return on the following Monday after participating in two different enduros and exploring various spots to ride their bikes on some amazing trails along the way.
