Youth Athletic Development Internship Summer 2021
The SSWSC Strength & Conditioning Department is excited to announce our interns for this summer! These three will be fully integrated into our FunFit and Fundamentals of Strength & Conditioning Programs to improve the athletic development of our youth athletes. Please be sure to say hi and give them a warm welcome. Together they will take on the programming and project of creating a Long-Term Athletic Development Model (LTAD) specific to the SSWSC youth development programs. Welcome Mia, Amber, and Mary Kate!
Mia Kline: Gonzaga University, Bachelor of Education in Kinesiology
I am most excited to meet the athletes and other coaches at SSWSC. I am also looking forward to growing my coaching skills while being immersed in the ski town culture of Steamboat Springs for the whole summer. I can’t wait to be there soon and meet everybody!
Amber Powers: Western Washington University, Kinesiology-Exercise Science major
I am most excited to experience the SSWSC in action and getting to be a part of it. I can’t wait to meet the community and learn all about how we can make a change in young athletes lives.
Mary Kate Hackworthy: CMC, Communications Major - SSWSC Alpine Alum
What I am most excited about being part of the SSWSC team this summer is getting to work with athletes to help them find a love for working out and living a healthy lifestyle. I have been an athlete with the club since 2014, so I am excited to see more of the planning that goes into writing workouts. I feel that living an active and healthy lifestyle is so important. I would love to be a part of helping young kids realize the importance of an active healthy lifestyle and recognize their athletic potential all while having a great time!
