Big Mountain Snowboard Team Stomps IFSA Comp at Steamboat Resort
SSWSC hosted the International Freeskiers and Snowboarders Association (IFSA) Big Mountain competitions at Steamboat Ski Resort on Saturday and Sunday, January 19-20. On Saturday, January 20, SSWSC’s Maddie Colon (U12 women) competed in her first Big Mountain competition and placed 2nd with a clean, fast run. Steamboat U12 Boys swept the podium with Summit Lynch placing first, landing a big air off the side of Million Dollar, Gus Hoppin getting second, and Leo Frisbie placing 3rd, followed by Phineas Walters in 4th.

On Sunday, 21st, Madden Broyles (U15 Women) competed in her first Big Mountain competition and took 2nd. Copper Malia (U15 Men) got redemption on his line from last year and stomped a huge back 3. He is five for five in taking first place in his competitions this season. Calvin Lieberman had a clean run, placing him in 4th place, followed by Trevon Shoemaker in 5th. Riley McNew placed 1st in the U19 Women category. Oscar Douglas (U19 Men) competed in his first competition and took home 4th place.
