It was a great weekend in Breck. We battled the winds and cold temps on Saturday’s competition but Sunday turned out to be beautiful. We’re stoked to have the three youngest competitors on our team all walk away with golds for Sunday’s Slopestyle comp.
Our Steamboat team member Jesse Hamric was in Aspen this weekend with his family and he earned himself 2 gold medals in a rail jam and a slopestyle competition.

Freeskiing
The Freeskiing program has been busy with their competition season. The USASA competitive group was in Breckenridge over the past weekend for both a Halfpipe and Slopestyle competition. Halfpipe was cold and windy but everyone skied well and in the end Cael McCarthy and Riley Jacobs won their classes with great runs.
The next day for Slopestyle was much warmer and sunny which had everyone skiing great. David Schlicht put down a great run and is excited to clean it up a bit for the Steamboat comp this weekend. Cael McCarthy on his 2nd run went for his double cork 1080 for the first time in a competition and almost skied away except his ski fell off on the landing. His first run was great and got him 3rd place in his age group for the day.
The Big Mountain Group kicked off its heaviest travel section with a week in Winter Park. Lots of fun was had as this was several athletes first event, including Levi Allen and Gage Adrian of the Jr team. An Incredible performance by Callum Becvarik showed the field that you can win without a giant air, Jacobs Gilbertson and Bryce Zetzman also found their way to the podium. Masie Wager skied to a win in the women’s field.
This weekend we will host our Home USASA events with Halfpipe in Bashor on Saturday at 10:00, a rail jam Saturday event at 4:00pm and Sunday at 10:00 am Slopestyle event. Come on out and support our local crew!
