News from Nordic Combined

The U16 and U18 Nordic Combined programs are in full swing and they will be joined by their U14 counterparts this week!  The youngsters start dryland training on Monday and everyone will be jumping by Friday.  But first, all the athletes, coaches and parents will come together for one last effort to open the jumps.  The jumps use snow nets during the winter that need to be removed to expose the summer plastic surface.  Every year we are surprised and immensely grateful for all of the families that come out of the woodwork to volunteer for the love of the sport!  The work party (come get your Work Deposit Points!) starts at 1:00pm on Sunday, June 5th and will last about 3 hours.  Anyone and everyone is welcome to join, we appreciate any bit of help we can get! 

We’d also like to recognize our J/NC athletes who graduated high school this year!  Logan Sankey, Peter Rosenthal, Koby Vargas, and Grant Andrews will all dawn their caps and gowns on Saturday, June 4th!  Logan, Koby, and Grant plan on continuing their pursuit of glory in the sport of Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined while Peter is taking the academic route and attending college in the fall!  Each of them are exceptional individuals and have made our job as coaches an exciting and rewarding journey.  Good luck grads!!
