Nordic Combined
While most sports are being canceled, one thing seems to be immune from the pandemic and thriving in these crazy times: the USA Nordic Virtual National Championship. This year marks the 7th iteration of the online junior series which highlights U10, U12 and U14 athletes from across the country in an online showdown of courage and grace on skis.
The competition is produced by the USA Nordic staff and judged by National Team athletes. One age/gender class is aired each day in a 6-day string of virtual competitions starting with U10 boys, and finishing with U14 girls. Athletes (or their parents) submit videos of one competition jump from the winter and receive scores based on technique and style. The winner from each class gets a pair of jumping skis donated to their club.

Congratulations to SSWSC’s Jesse Hamric, who received an honorable mention in the #USASAshowcase2020 video contest, which was held since Nationals was canceled. They received over 200 60-second season edits from USASA athlete freeskiers and snowboarders showcasing the 2020 season. Great job, Jesse!
