Hall of Fame Inductees

Last Saturday, SSWSC board member Chris Diamond was inducted to the Colorado Snowsports Hall of Fame, along with former SSWSC Executive Director Walt Evans . Diamond recently retired after 17 years as the president and COO at the Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation where he successfully led the resort through the ownership transition to Intrawest and where he partnered with the club to develop the new SSWSC Stevens Family Alpine Venue. He also recently authored the book Ski Inc. providing an insider’s view to the ski industry. Evans led the SSWSC from 1979-1983 before spending three decades leading USSA’s domestic competition programs and making an everlasting mark on junior alpine ski racing in the U.S.

This Saturday, SSWSC Freestyle Coach Ann Battelle will be inducted into the Vermont Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame. Ann came to the SSWSC to hone her mogul skiing skills after growing up and attending college in Vermont, and went on to ski in four Olympic Winter Games, while winning one World Championship and two World Cup moguls titles. Congratulations to these Hall of Fame inductees!
