Join us this weekend!

Western Regional Championships-
Day #1- Saturday-2/24 is a Individual Start Classic Race 5/10k, with the first racer leaving the start gate at 9:30.There will be juniors from the SSWSC and other regional clubs, mixed in with the collegiate racers. There are also separate races after the college races, for younger skiers, down to U10
Day #2- Sunday 2/25- Mass Start Freestyle Race 15/20k
First race starts at 9:30, second race starts at 11:00
These races will be mostly made up of collegiate racers, as the distances are long for Junior athletes, though there may be some Juniors starting. A Junior is under the age of 20 years by 12/31/2017.
In the collegiate ranks, the SSWSC XC Program does have alumni who will be competing:
University of Colorado- Tyler Terranova
Denver University- Lars Hannah, Simon Zink, Evan Barbier, Nick Sweeney
Montana State University- Kathleen O’Connell, Jordi Floyd

Freeskiing

Last weekend the SSWSC Freeskiing Team finished its USASA Slopestyle Season in Winter Park. Now the athletes who are hoping to make USASA Nationals in April must wait for all the other series to finish up to see if they made the cut.

The weather was calling for high winds all day, but we were lucky enough to get through the competition without it causing any issues with the course.

Alpine U16 athletes traveled all the way to Croatia and Slovenia for competitions, and had an incredible time, with Cole Gedeon taking home first place! Huge thanks to Melinda Sherman for sending in some photos of the athletes!
