Snowboard Senior Team, grades 9-12

Snowboard Senior Team (ages 14-18, grades 9-12)

The Snowboard Senior Team is for the experienced rider who exhibits a high level of dedication to snowboarding and is looking to develop the well-rounded skills required for competition and elite-level riding. Training sessions will focus on advanced techniques in Slopestyle and Halfpipe with the goal of developing a strong base for USASA events, Future’s Tour, and Rev Tours competitions. These athletes will compete in USASA, Futures, and Rev Tour events.

Requirements
  • Skill requirement: Prior competition experience, advanced riding ability. Strong internal motivation, willing to think outside the box and participate in team building within the group. Desire to compete and consistently progress one’s overall development within freestyle snowboarding.
  • Equipment: Discipline-specific snowboard equipment and a helmet.
  • Passes: Full IKON pass required. Howelsen Hill ticket or pass needed for airbag days.
  • High School Schedule: SSHS athletes must have “0” hour all year, partial skier schedule in fall, full skier schedule in winter.
  • Competition information: USASA events through Rocky Mountain Series and Futures/Rev Tour Slopestyle and Halfpipe events.
  • Memberships: A USASA license is required for USASA slopestyle and halfpipe competitions. U.S. Ski & Snowboard/FIS membership required in addition for Futures & Rev Tours.

Dryland: September 3 – November 14
Tuesday, 4-5:30 p.m. - Howelsen Gym
Wednesday, 4-6 p.m. at Bald Eagle Lake (transportation provided)
Thursday, 5-6 p.m. - Steamboat Mountain School (transportation provided)

On-Snow: December 3 – April 5
Tuesday-Friday, 1-4 p.m. at Steamboat Resort
Saturday, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Steamboat Resort
Tuesday at Howelsen Hill as scheduled for airbag - Howelsen day ticket or pass will be required.
Thursday, 5-6 p.m. at Steamboat Mountain School (transportation provided)

Halfpipe clinics will be offered on Sunday noon-2 p.m., once the Bashor halfpipe is built and open to the public.

 

2024-2025 Program Fee

2024-2025 Program Fee (Resident)*: $6,500
2024-2025 Program Fee (Non-Resident)*: $8,100

*Residents and non-residents are required to pay an additional $600 refundable work deposit.

  • Scholarships: Resident athletes in competitive year-round programs are eligible for the two-step EZ Competitive Program Scholarship and Winter Program Fee Scholarship. Non-residents are not eligible for EZ Scholarships but may apply for the Winter Program Fee Scholarship. See the chart below for the two-step EZ Competitive Program Scholarship levels.   • Resident Requirements: To be eligible for the resident program fee, athletes must be full-time residents of Routt or Moffat County or full-time participants of SSWSC for two years or more. See the Member Handbook for full details on resident fees. Find the Residency Status Policy HERE.

  • Payment Plan: SSWSC offers multiple payment options for summer, winter, and year-round program fees. Credit cards, eCheck (ACH bank transfer), cash, and checks are all accepted. We also offer a payment plan option. Find more information HERE.

  • Work Deposit Program: SSWSC requires a work deposit for each family. During the registration process, the program fee listed includes the work deposit. Families can earn back the work deposit by volunteering for SSWSC or opt out of volunteering and donate the work deposit to SSWSC. Find more information on the Work Deposit Program HERE.
