U14 Cross Country, (ages 12-13) NEW
For U14 cross country athletes looking to prepare for a competitive pathway in cross country skiing by adding structured summer training. This two session/week morning program will emphasize the core elements of cross country dryland training: Running, Rollerskiing and Strength. There will also be a long-distance hike or two mixed in, as well as other special training themes included. This is an opportunity to gain fitness in specific cross country dryland training forms in preparation for the coming season. Athletes are encouraged to join the Fundamentals of Strength and Conditioning program on Mondays and Wednesdays for one or two three week sessions or a summer mountain bike program as complements to this program.
DATES AND TIMES: June 18 - August 1, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7:30 a.m. -10:00 a.m.
Required Equipment: Skate roller skis, skate boots, skate poles with roller ski tips, neon/high visibility tops, chest-high poles for ski bounding, running shoes, water pack, helmet (must be worn biking and roller skiing), wrist watch *We can provide roller skis and bounding poles for those not ready for that investment.
