Snowboard Athlete Walker Overstake Earns a FIS World Cup
SSWSC snowboard athlete Walker Overstake has earned a FIS World Cup start in snowboard parallel giant slalom and parallel slalom for the 2024-2025 season. This will be his first opportunity to compete in a World Cup event, a spot he secured after a strong season on the NorAm circuit. He is currently ranked 2nd in the U.S. for Alpine Snowboarding on the 2024-2025 base points list, which secured his quota spot for the FIS World Cup. SSWSC Snowboard Program Director Alex Deibold was proud of Walker’s accomplishment and said, “Walker has consistently put in effort both on and off the hill, and it’s exciting to see his determination paying off, especially as athletes begin to focus on qualifying for the Milano/Cortina Olympics in 2026.”
