Alpine Snowboard Team Athlete Walker Overstake takes home Silver Medal at USASA Snowboard Nationals
Nine SSWSC alpine snowboard athletes qualified for the USASA Nationals at Copper Mountain—Sam Carpenter, Walker Overstake, Mike Smith, Tag Carr, Nick Pierce, Zubair Lone, Owen McAllister, Cecelia Jones, and Linda Jechova. SSWSC athletes had a strong week. In the men’s parallel giant slalom (PGS) Walker Overtake earned a silver medal, Taggert Carr was 6th, Sam Carpenter was 10th and Mike Smith was 14th. For the women PGS, Linda Jechova was 9th, and Cecelia Jones was 14th.

In the open class parallel slalom races, for the men, Walker Overstake was 5th, and Nick Pierce, 14th, and for the women, Linda Jechova was 8th and Cecelia Jones, 9th.

Walker also earned a bronze in the snowboardcross race!
