SSWSC Athletes Take on U.S. Mogul Freestyle Championships
Nine Moguls athletes were in Waterville Valley, NH, last week for the U.S. Mogul Freestyle Championships. With over three feet of snow falling, Lower Bobby’s went from gray ice in training to powder bumps on duals day. Competing against the best skiers in the US, TeamSteam put their best efforts forward, seized the opportunity, and made their coaches proud.
Xander Tatar-Brown put down consistent, exciting runs, ending in 7th place. Jackson True qualified in singles in 7th place, ending up in 14th. Liam Siefken narrowly missed qualifying for the top 20 finals, placing 21st. Shane Mariano, in his first FIS event ever, placed 34th.
Izzy Powell led the charge for the women, placing 14th in singles and 10th in duals. Anabel Ayad was 15th, Abrianna Gordon was 30th, Claire Boyle was 32nd in singles and 23rd in duals, and Reise Wilson, in her first FIS event, caught a snow snake, ending up in 54th.
Congratulations to all the athletes on their hard work and commitment throughout the season to earn the honor of representing SSWSC at U.S. National Championships!
The athletes have some well-deserved time off before heading to their last event of the season, the FIS Open in Snowbird, in three weeks.
