Pro-Am Race Team Takes On Holiday Valley, New York
On February 26 and 27, the Pro-Am Race Team raced at Holiday Valley, NY. The team had spring-like conditions with hard snow at the bottom and slush on top. Luckily, athletes were able to slip the race line to get to the hard surface. On the first day, Nick Pierce rode very well and ended up 5th, a career-best for him. Walker Overstake was 10th after being edged out in a very close parallel finish. Linda Jechova also had a career-best 5th place. Big smile right there!
We started early on the second race day to beat the rain that was expected in the afternoon. Walker got 5th and had great speed. Robby Burns, the later winner of the race, only beat him marginally. Mike Smith got a 9th also, just missing the next round in a very close finish.
Linda proved her newfound speed again with a 7th place. Next stop is Saint Moritz, Switzerland, and Lachtal, Austria, for Junior Worlds.
