SSWSC Announces Leadership Transition Sarah Floyd Promoted to Executive Director
Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club announced today that Associate Executive Director Sarah Floyd has been promoted to Executive Director of the SSWSC and Athletic Director Jon Nolting has been promoted to Associate Executive Director effective October 25, 2018. As part of these promotions, current Executive Director Jim Boyne stepped down from his position as Executive Director of the Club, and has assumed the role of President of the SSWSC Board, where he will continue to be engaged and support key initiatives of the club such as strategic planning, fundraising, working with the club’s venue partners to continue to improve the quality of club and community facilities (including the efforts to replace the Barrows Chairlift at Howelsen Hill, and facilitating the continued operation by the SSWSC of the alpine slide at Howelsen Hill).
Current SSWSC Board President Matt Tredway stated “the Board and Jim believe that now is a good time for Jim to provide new leadership opportunities for Sarah and Jon, as they are both very talented individuals committed to the Steamboat Springs community, the SSWSC’s mission and its athletes. Under Jim’s leadership over the last 5 years, he and his team have transformed the Club and the Board is excited that Jim will now serve the Club as President of the Board and continue to be available to partner with Sarah and Jon as they lead the SSWSC and evolve its strategy and programs.” Tredway said.
“The mission and vision of the SSWSC is a passion of mine and I am proud of what we have accomplished together over the last 5 years to bring the SSWSC to a new level of organizational and financial stability that will better serve our community and athletes” said Boyne. “I am excited to see Sarah and Jon continue to move the SSWSC in a positive and impactful direction and to propel it to new heights, and I am honored to stay involved in a supportive and strategic role as Board President.”
Sarah Floyd has served the SSWSC in various capacities over the last 30 years, most recently as Associate Executive Director, and has been instrumental in the continued success and sustainability of the club during her career. “The SSWSC is as strong as it has ever been athletically, professionally and financially with solid partnerships throughout the community. I give tremendous credit to the knowledge, experience and hard work that Jim Boyne provided to the SSWSC in his 5 year tenure. Our staff is well assembled to take on the initiatives and challenges ahead, to provide positive experiences to every member of the club, and to support each athlete in reaching their personal goals. I am honored and privileged to take the lead of our remarkable team at this time in the history of the SSWSC.”
