Freestyle
The U13, U15, 17/19 and High Performance Mogul Groups have been doing an excellent job out at the water ramps this summer. We’ve seen significant improvement from them through their dedication to the process and challenging themselves each day! We’ve seen many firsts for these athletes…whether you’re stepping up to do your first back somersault on water ramps or a double twisting back somersault; is not an easy thing and can be very intimidating. Some of the athletes take significant hits on the water but gather the courage to go back and try that maneuver again. This is trust in the process. The feeling of overcoming fear and doing something that you’ve never done before is indescribable and we believe that is part of what keeps them coming back day after day, week after week. The energy for challenge and enjoyment of that challenge is palpable out there with all the groups and we’re seeing some of our best technical changes ever. The coaching staff is excellent and dedicated really drilling down from the fundamentals to the nuances of each trick with the individual athlete in mind.
Big thanks to all of the dedicated parents getting their kids out there for the programming and here’s to continuing on with athletic progress!
Alpine
The U14 athletes were welcomed by different disciplines last week in order to try their alpine skis out on some different venues! On Friday, the kids were able to try their hand at jumping off the nordic jumps, and they also tried out the water ramps at Bald Eagle Lake! We’re so fortunate to have disciplines that enjoy hosting each other and sharing the fun of their trainings with each other (with social distancing, of course!)
