SSWSC Moguls Team Trains and Competes in Australia
Four members of the SSWSC Mogul Team just returned from Australia, where they spent two weeks training and competing. Despite the lowest snow in years and resorts ending their season early, TeamSteam made the most of their time at Perisher. Training on Toppa’s Dream, the famed Australian mogul course, the athletes were happy to be able to bring their water ramping trick to snow.
The two-day Australian National Championships were condensed into one day to accommodate the warm weather, each competition being one run. Competing against the top skiers from Australia, Great Britain, and Japan, Jackson True finished with an impressive 7th and 11th. Xander Tatar-Brown placed 15th and 10th, Beck Ward was 13th and 16th, and Anabel Ayad placed 23rd and 19th.
The rest of TeamSteam has begun their fall training, combining two days of skill training at the water ramps with three days of strength and yoga. Snow will be flying soon!
