Anderson Agopian Wins IFSA Freeski Comp at Monarch
On Friday, March 1, five SSWSC U12 freeskiing athletes traveled to Monarch Mountain to compete in the Monarch IFSA U12 event against 42 other competitors from Colorado and New Mexico. The athletes skied a variety of challenging lines on the High Anxiety venue with strong style, clean technique, and tons of energy and were rewarded with excellent places at the end of the day.
Anderson Agopian won the male ski event with his trademark powerful style and clean airs, with Theo Givnish placing fourth thanks to clean skiing and a massive air at the finish line, Kai Riegler skied to a strong 6th place finish, and Riley Gunn skied a controlled line to place 12th. Mason Baker finished out the day with a strong run in his first-ever big mountain competition.
