Snowboard Devo Team Shows Determination at Boardercross Races at Copper Mountain
/>February 3-5, 16 athletes from the Snowboard Devo Team raced Boardercross at Copper Mountain. Of the 16 athletes, seven were racing for the first time. Ellie Bennett was the youngest competitor out there all weekend at just six years old. The Devo Team finished the weekend with four golds, three silvers, and four bronze medals. Athletes made the most out of training time, choosing to race their friends from other age groups and other teams before the official races started. Athletes shared that they were proud of their sportsmanship, their strong starts, and their determination to pull ahead when they found themselves behind. In addition to the actual races, many athletes said that our team session at The Barn was a highlight, with athletes continuing to work toward and accomplish goals off snow (shoutout to Chase Demos who worked with coaches to achieve a standing backflip).
