Freestyle Moguls Athletes Mia Satkiewicz and Liam Siefken Win Rocky Mountain Freestyle Dual Moguls Competition
Freestyle moguls team athletes Mia Satkiewicz and Liam Siefken win men’s and women’s dual moguls competitions at Rocky Mountain Freestyle Steadman Clinic moguls competition, January 20-21, 2024. The event at Aspen Highlands was the second Rocky Mountain Freestyle competition of the season. The course on Thunderbowl is always a consistently tricky course with a gnarly top-air landing and fiercely competitive field. The athletes showed strong results in both singles and dual moguls competitions. In addition to Mia Satkiewicz and Liam Siefken winning the dual moguls competitions after skiing a total of five competition runs in one day, Lyllah Miller and Griffin Harvey both completed back tucks for the first time in competition, and Scotty Kane also completed his Cork 720 for the first time, huge milestones for freestyle moguls athletes. SSWSC’s Gigi Lobeck made her first duals finals, finishing in 8th on duals day. Shane Mariano earned 4th place overall and 3rd place in U17 in singles, his best finish to date! Other SSWSC results: Scotty Kane finished 35th in singles, Finley Fontaine was 27th, Reise Wilson 29th, and Anouk Bradley was 40th.
SSWSC and Steamboat Ski Resort welcome two age groups of Rocky Mountain Freestyle moguls competitions January 27-28, with Rocky Mountain Freestyle Qualifiers Series (U15 and U19) competitions on Saturday and Rocky Mountain Freestyle Devo (U13 and under) competitions on Sunday. Both events will take place on Bashor at Steamboat Ski Resort. Spectators are invited to cheer on SSWSC’s ripping, up-and-coming mogul skiers!
