Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club Jump Nordic Combined Program Director and Olympian Todd Wilson was honored with the Halstead Award at the Winter Start awards ceremony on December 9, 2023. The Halstead Award is presented annually by the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Rocky Mountain Division (RMD) for outstanding service and influence in the sport of skiing in the Rocky Mountain Division. Nominations are made for an individual who has unselfishly contributed to the ski disciplines represented by RMD. The Halstead Award is an engraved silver revere bowl. The original silver bowl resides in the Colorado Ski Museum in Vail, and a replica is presented to the recipient.

For 30 years, Todd Wilson has been the pied piper of SSWSC’s ski jumping and Nordic combined program, guiding the development of North America’s largest natural ski jumping complex and growing the program into the largest in the world. Wilson was a member of the US Nordic team for nine years, with his best international finish a seventh at the 1991 World Winter University Games. He competed at two Winter Olympics, Albertville in 1992 and Calgary in 1988, and the World Championships in 1985 and 1987. Wilson attended Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
