Young Moguls Athletes Bring the Fire to Devo Comp on Steamboat Ski Resort
On Sunday, January 28, Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club and Steamboat Ski Resort hosted young mogul athletes in the second competition of the Rocky Mountain Freestyle Devo Competition. Eighty-four U9 to U15 competitors gathered from around the region to show their skills on Bashor at Steamboat Ski Resort. The sun was warm, the moguls were soft… and the athletes brought the fire!
The Rocky Mountain Development (Devo) Freestyle program was created to give young athletes an opportunity for a realistic competition experience in an age-appropriate scenario. The series emphasizes the development of basic freestyle skills in a safe environment. The Devo program is for entry-level freestyle skiers aged 12 and under as of December 31 of the competition season (U13, U11, U9, U7).
