Our first race of the year brought us back to an early season favorite, Loveland. With great snow conditions and dark days our athletes sunk there teeth in for some ripping GS. Day 1 saw top 20 finishes from Taylor Olson (16th), Hannah Soria (18th), and Margaret Dickson (19th) on the ladies side and for the men we had Trey Seymour (12th), Chase Seymour (15th) and Kyle Kagen (20th). On Day 2 Margaret Dickson (15th), Taylor Olson (17th), and Hannah Soria (18th) were back in the top 20 along with Cole Puckett (8th), Chase Seymour (13th) and Trey Seymour (16th).
For our second race we headed to Copper for a frigid two day Slalom series. The men finished strong with top 20 results from Cole Puckett (12th) , Trey Seymour (14th) , Chase Seymour (15th) on day 1 and then again on day 2 with Cole Puckett (8th), Trey Seymour (12th) and Chase Seymour ( 18th). The ladies had a tough first day, but found their stride on day 2 with some top 20 finishes from Amber Elliot (15th) and Hannah Soria (17th).
Next week we head to Aspen for some speed training and racing at Buttermilk.
Alpine U14
This past weekend, a handful of the U14 Alpine “Team Grizzly” members went down to Copper Mountain to race in the Sync Series USSA races alongside their U16 clubmates. They competed against athletes U14 and up in age, and competition it was! There were PG athletes, collegiate athletes, and some of the fastest U16 National Training Group athletes in the field. The crew did great, as they raced their way down Copperopolis through a variety of courses, some fast and straight, some tight with turns, and others which were very irregular! What a learning experience!

The U12 and U14 alpine athletes had their first Steamboat Cup race this past weekend on the new Alpine Training Venue All Out. The skiing certainly reflected the benefit of having spent as much time as we have up there this season! Results were broken down into each year of birth - 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002 - which gave the athletes a direct comparison to their immediate peers.
