SSWSC XC is pleased to announce the arrival of Greta Anderson to our coaching staff. Her title is Assistant U20/18/16 coach, though her significant coaching/athlete experiences will enhance our entire program. Here is a brief outline of Greta’s skiing/coaching career: She hails from Anchorage, Alaska. As a junior, she skied for the Alaska Winter Stars. She competed in several Junior Nationals for Team Alaska. For five years she was a member of the Alaska Pacific Elite Team. She has coached juniors and masters for APU the last two years. She has been involved with NanaNordic/Skiku- which spreads the joy of XC Skiing to indigenous youth in remote villages of the Arctic Circle (here she met and coached alongside Josh Smullin). Her undergrad work is in Counseling Psychology with specialization in Sport Psych, Marriage Counseling and Nutrition Counseling. She is a personal trainer and holds several nutrition certifications. She loves being outside, lifting weights, mountain running, and of course- XC Skiing. Greta arrives the second week of October.
