Freeski Athlete Tanner Van Ness Places 3rd at USASA Copper Slopestyle
Freeski athlete Tanner Van Ness was on the podium for the first time in the USASA Copper Slopestyle on Sunday, January 21. Slopestyle is a series of rails and jump features, athletes and athletes get two chances down the same run. Riders are scored on the difficulty and execution of tricks as well as the amplitude on each individual feature. Tanner had a super clean first run, but on the last rail, his ski popped off. On his second run, he decided to try the same run because he knew he could land it. He put down strong second run and ended on the podium his run second try and managed to get 3rd place!
