Six Snowboard Athletes Qualify to Compete in Junior Worlds, March 22-24, 2024
Six snowboard athletes from SSWSC are headed to Junior Worlds in Austria. The team left this week to compete in the Europa Cup in St. Moriz, Switzerland, March 16-17, and then head to the Junior Worlds in Lachtal, Austria, March 22-24. Walker Overstake, Mike Smith, Nick Pierce, Taggert Carr (qualified by will not compete due to injury), Sam Carpenter, and Linda Jechova all qualified from SSWSC, and they will meet up with US teammates Grace Domino and Anika Kizuka. Hans Berge and Converse Fields will coach the team for the event. The athletes will compete in a series of parallel giant slalom and giant slalom races.
