Ellie Reynolds Takes Silver in Crested Butte IFSA Freeski Competition

SSWSC Freeskiers traveled to Crested Butte during Blues Break to compete in the IFSA 3 event from February 22 to 25. The event hosted freeskiers and snowboarders from around North America, who threw down on classic extreme terrain.

Ellie Reynolds brought home the Silver in the U19 Female ski field with huge airs and hard-charging lines through both Headwall and Spellbound. Taking a huge entry air in Spellbound on finals day, Ellie moved from 3rd after qualifier to 2nd overall. Ellie Reynolds is currently ranked 6th in North America for U19 Female Skiers.

Gavin Murphy, in his first-ever 3* event, wowed the judges by doing a switch 180 mid-venue on qualifier day. He backed it up on finals with a steep and technical entry to the venue, followed by even more big mountain backward skiing. Gavin made the massive leap from 23rd to 15th place in the U19 Male skiers field.
