Eight SSWSC Alpine Athletes to Race in U18 National Championships
Eight SSWSC alpine athletes were named to the Rocky Central U18 Nationals Team and are headed to Jackon, Wyoming, today for the U18 National Alpine Championships March 2-8, 2024. Katharina Cosby, Noelle Roth, Hazel Fernley, Kahlen White, and Mollie McTique were named to the women’s team. Curtis Zanni, Adrian Beauregard, and Caman Beauregard were named to the men’s team. The athletes qualified based on results from a series of races in Super G and giant slalom in Breckenridge, Colorado, and slalom races at Spirit Mountain in Duluth, Minnesota in addition to their national rankings. Katharina Cosby and Curtis Zanni won back-to-back races in the giant slalom qualifiers in Breckenridge, and Mollie McTigue earned second place at the slalom races in Duluth. The athletes will compete against the best U18 racers from across the country in a series of races, including giant slalom and slalom March 2-3 at Snow King in Jackson and speed races, downhill and Super G, at Jackson Hole Resort March 6-8. Athlete Abby Olson also qualified but will not compete due to injury.
