TeamSteam took advantage of the first mogul course in the country by not only getting some early season training but also hosting the first mogul event in the country. With the collaborative efforts of the City of Steamboat Springs and SSWSC, Howelsen Hill face presented a fantastic and challenging training and competition venue for our athletes. For the first time, competing under the lights at Howelsen Hill made for an extra exciting component for the first comp of the season.

And take advantage they did. Shane Mariano won the event, with Liam Siefken taking the silver. Peyton Billeisen, in his first competition in almost two years after sustaining a knee injury, placed 4th. Jack Perkins, in his first competition with TeamSteam, placed 6th. Scotty Kane came in 12th, Griffin Harvey 14th, Cole Andersson 15th and Henry Crump 31st. For age groups, Siefken was 1st for U19, Perkins was 3rd, and Kane was 7th. Mariano was 1st in U17, Harvey was 4th, and Crump was 13th. Anderson took the silver for the U15s.

In the women’s competition, Anabel Ayad showed up to ski, placing 2nd in the overall. Mia Satkiewicz came from a 7th-place first run to finish 3rd overall for the day. Reise Wilson placed 5th, Sydney Soard, in her first Comp Series level event, placed 8th, Anouk Bradley placed 11th, Gigi Lobeck got 13th, Lyllah Miller placed 15th and Finley Fontaine placed 17th. For age groups, Satkiewicz placed 2nd in U19. In U17, Wilson was 2nd, Bradley 3rd, Lobeck was 4th, Miller 5th and Fontaine 7th. Soard took the W for the U15 girls.
