U13 Freestyle Moguls | Freestyle Winter Programs

U13 Moguls, grades 4-6

This program continues to develop the technical base of overall skiing skills from the U10 program and is designed to foster the desire for learning and exploration in mogul skiing. U13 Moguls athletes will continue to hone their skiing skills all over the mountain as well as practice mogul technique and proper jumping progressions. Rocky Mountain Devo competitions are encouraged but not mandatory. At this age and stage, it is our goal to help create a love for the sport and a love for the process of improving! This program is scheduled for four days a week on snow. We encourage athletes to trampoline and water ramp in the summer.

Requirements

Skill requirement: Must be able to ski blue/black runs confidently with an interest in skiing across the whole mountain.
Equipment: Alpine ski equipment and helmet. More specifics on equipment will be provided prior to the start of the season.
Passes: Must have full IKON pass and Howelsen Hill Pass.
Membership: Skiers do not need a license for the Steamboat Ski Cup Series. U.S. Ski & Snowboard license is required for RQS/Devo Mogul Series.
Age: Grades 4-6 (AGE GROUP GUIDELINES)

*If weather is poor, we will have at least one team-building activity during the week indoors.

2024-2025 Program Fee

2024-2025 Program Fee$4,150 plus a $450 refundable work deposit

Payment Plan: SSWSC offers multiple payment options for summer, winter, and year-round program fees. Credit cards, eCheck (ACH bank transfer), cash, and checks are all accepted. We also offer a payment plan option. Find more information HERE.
Work Deposit Program: SSWSC requires a work deposit for each family. During the registration process, the program fee listed includes the work deposit. Families can earn back the work deposit by volunteering for SSWSC or opt out of volunteering and donate the work deposit to SSWSC. Find more information on the Work Deposit Program HERE.
Ride the SSWSC Bus: SSWSC offers after-school bus transportation from Steamboat Springs public schools to Howelsen Hill for SSWSC elementary and middle school athletes, 1st through 8th grades, on their scheduled training days.
