One Day Mountain Bike Classes

New Classes! Cancellations must be received at least 72 hours before the class start date to receive a refund, minus a $10 cancellation fee. A full refund is available if the class is cancelled due to low enrollment.

MTB Fundamental Skill Clinic (all ages)

This is a one-day clinic for those interested in developing their fundamental mountain bike skills and become a better all-around rider. If you’re looking to learn new skills, increase your confidence on the bike, or simply enjoy the sport like never before this clinic is for you. Skills covered include correct body position, vision, climbing/descending technique, cornering and braking. Pack a lunch and be ready for a fun full day of learning!

Minimum ability requirements: Comfortably rides a two wheeler on dirt and has some mountain biking experience.
Minimum equipment requirements: A bike with gears and handbrakes, a cycling helmet, bike gloves, sunglasses, water, snack and spare tube (the same size as your tire!!) A Camelbak and bike shorts are recommended.
Meet at Howelsen Hill Lodge.

Flow (ages 10 to adult)

Find your flow while descending. This clinic is designed to make flow trails and descending in general more enjoyable. We will work on banked turns, small gap jumps, pumping bumps and braking effectively. Uphill riding is required to earn your flow.

Minimum Ability Requirements: Can comfortably ride all mountain bike trails on Emerald. Considered an intermediate skill level class.
Meet at Howelsen Hill Lodge. Bring water and snacks. Helmet, gloves, eye protection required. Pads recommended.

Up & Down (9 to adult)

This clinic focuses on the pure XC mountain bike skills of climbing and descending. We will cover topics including body positioning, cornering, pedal strokes and gear shifting. The goal is to make up hill and downhill more enjoyable!

Minimum equipment requirements: 24” wheel or larger, helmet and glovesMinimum ability requirements: Comfortably riding mountain bike trails. Considered a beginner to intermediate skill level class.
Bring water and a snack. Helmet and eye protection required.

Pump and Jump (10-14yr)

Want to be a better dirt jumper? Pump track pumper? Learn to gap jump? Join us for an evening clinic at Bear River Bike Park. This is for riders that are comfortable on dirt and want to take their jumping skills to the next level. We will cover wheel lifts, bunny hops, riding berms and weighting and unweighting over a jump, jump safety and finding the flow!

Minimum ability requirements: Comfortably riding all mountain bike trails on Emerald. Considered an intermediate skill level class.
Equipment requirements: Helmet, gloves and eye protection required. Pads recommended. Bike type: dirt Jumper or mountain bike. Bring water and snacks.
Meet at Bear River Bike Park. Maximum number of participants is 12.
