First of all, I'd like to take a minute to thank everyone involved with the Snowboard Team this past season. We enjoyed an unprecedented level of success at every level, in every program and in every discipline. Competitively, we had one of our best years yet with riders competing all over the world in a variety of events including the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. Sometimes the sheer number of events, podiums and places we travel is overwhelming....to see our highlights for the season click here- its pretty impressive.
I'd also like to give a huge thanks to our coaching staff this season. They all pulled together and worked hard to give all the kids on the team the best experience possible. I cant say enough how stoked I am to work with such an amazing group of people on a daily basis.
Lastly, thanks to all the parents for a great season. Its a pretty big deal to trust your kids to a coach for hours or days at a time. I truly appreciate your support and encouragement of our program. We couldn't do what we do without you!
Thanks to all for a great season and I'm already working on the 2010-2011 season. Please read the articles below for more news and updates. See ya'll in a few months- dont hesitate to drop me a line over the summer.
Sincerely,
Jon Casson
Program Director

Spencer has been with the SSWSC for over 15 years, first as a team rider then as a coach. For the past 4 years, Spencer has been the Head Coach of our Pro-Am Freestyle Team. His impact on our club, team, athletes and parents is incalculable. His determination, drive, passion and commitment to our team has influenced every facet of our club for over a decade. While we will find a suitable successor for Spencer, his presence will never truly be replaced. Our job on the snowboard team is to prepare all of our members for the next step in their goals- this includes coaches. Because of this, sometimes we have to see someone go who has been a big part of our lives for a long time. Spencer has worked very hard to establish himself as the best snowboard coach in the world and we are so stoked to see his hard work rewarded. Even though his new position will take him all over the world, Steamboat will remain Spencer's home and we'll be fortunate enough to still see him on the hill when he's home. From all of us at the SSWSC, we congratulate Spencer on his new position and thank him for the years of dedication to the SSWSC.
