Mt. Hood Session II

So far so good.  The kids are working hard – morning warm ups, early chair loads, lots of drills, afternoon games and conditioning, video sessions, team meeting, dinner, bed and then do it all over again.  Oh, I forgot the ping pong – ya lots of ping pong.  The snow conditions have been fantastic and today was a beautiful day.  The past couple days have been cold.  We have had to do some education on how to dress for the mountain environment – like wearing parkas.  Do kids own parkas anymore?  Some say they have parkas at home but don’t seem to have them here.  The kids are tough though.  They cycle around and around and around on the chair – and learn, learn, learn – and they are getting it!

We, the coaching staff are very pleased.  The kids are really applying themselves to learning and making strides in their skiing – that is what we like to see and improvements are being made for sure.  That makes us really happy.  Three more days on snow - one more day of GS then back to SL.

Cheers, Deb
